What he did say was that he wouldn’t be nearly as accomplished if he didn’t have a clear vision and goal for his future.
Born two years after World War II ended in Austria, his whole childhood, he had people telling him that he could never accomplish his dreams:
“THE RULES ARE ALWAYS THE SAME, DON’T LISTEN TO THE NAYSAYERS. EVERYONE HAS TOLD ME FROM THE TIME I SAID I WANTED TO BE MR. UNIVERSE, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A STUPID DREAM. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM AND I DID IT.”
Clearly, it did not take long for him to prove everyone wrong. But that’s not to say that it was easy.
For Arnold, like everyone else, you need to have a plan before you decide to do anything. After all, without clear goals, how are you going to plan your next steps?

His reasoning? Wanting to give back to the country that gave him everything.
“I DIDN’T HAVE THAT VISION, IT CAME ABOUT VERY QUICKLY. AMERICA GAVE ME EVERYTHING I HAD NOW IT’S TIME TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK. I DON’T MISS THE MONEY AT ALL. I WAS HAPPY TO DO IT.”
